The Ombudsperson of Igualada and the Customer Counsel of Aigua de Rigat sign a collaboration agreement
Rosa M. Sánchez Fuentes, the Ombudsperson of Igualada, David Gall, Manager of the company Aigua de Rigat and Sergi Sanchís, Customer Counsel of Aigua de Rigat, signed a collaboration agreement with the aim of improving the service for the citizens of Igualada.
This agreement will make it possible to address, in a fast and personalized manner, the claims concerning the water service in this municipality received by the Ombudsperson of Igualda. The agreement has a validity of two years, is renewable and is in response to Aigua de Rigat’s desire to be close to people and to offer users more guarantees in the face of a possible dispute with the company.
The Ombudsperson of Igualada is an institution which, independently and objectively, has the mission of defending the fundamental rights and the public freedoms of the citizens in relation to the municipal administration, the administrative bodies which are answerable to it, and the municipal public service companies and public service concession companies.
Since the figure of the Customer Counsel was created, mediation has become consolidated as an effective dispute resolution tool: 93% of the cases handled have been solved. Dialogue with the users and active listening are the keys to strengthen the relations between the parties and generate a framework of mutual trust.
